Reality stars strike the same bizarre Instagram pose in invisible heels

When it comes to striking a pose this summer, there’s one must-have accessory that Australian celebrities are rarely seen without.

As soon as a camera comes out for a beachside snap, the likes of Cassandra Wood and Elyse Knowles suddenly slip into a pair of invisible ‘magic heels’.

This bizarre trend of influencers and reality TV stars posing uncomfortably on their tiptoes to elongate their legs is the Instagram trend that simply refuses to go away.

Former Big Brother contestant Skye Wheatley is considered a pioneer of the ‘invisible heels’ pose in Australia.

The 24-year-old has been tip-toeing her way across Instagram in skimpy bikinis and lingerie since 2014.

Of course, Skye is by no means the only reality TV star to follow the trend.

Bachelor in Paradise’s Elora Murger posed in ‘invisible heels’ while promoting a hair-removal device on Instagram recently.

And Married At First Sight’s Davina Rankin is also known to stand on her tiptoes to create the illusion of extra height in photos.

The pose has been dubbed ‘Barbie feet’ by Who Wear What, in honour of the doll whose feet are ‘permanently moulded into a pointed position’.

The fashion website states: ‘To master this pose, there’s only one requirement: Act like you’re wearing an invisible pair of high heels, even though there’s nothing but air under your arches.’

Fellow franchise star Snezana Markoski is also a fan, as well as former Love Island Australia contestant Cassidy McGill.

The Block 2017 winner Elyse Knowles is another fan of ‘Barbie feet’.

The 26-year-old model doesn’t just reserve the raised heel for high-end fashion shoots, but for her own Instagram snaps too.

Whether she’s sitting or standing, it’s usually guaranteed at least one heel will be slightly elevated.
