Rebecca Gibney posts childhood throwback on Instagram

Crossing the Tasman Sea when she was just 19-years-old, this New Zealand-born actress has become one of Australia’s most popular actresses.

But on Wednesday, the 52-year-old shared an adorable and almost unrecognisable childhood photo of herself.

The blonde star was seen with a short black bowl cut, which she sarcastically thanked her dad for giving her as a youngster.

‘Thanks for the bowl cut Dad. At least I wasn’t alone… and yes I’m the squirt on the right with the super dodgy fringe. Wednesday Adams eat your heart out,’ She captioned the photo, adding the hashtag ‘#moreflashbacktragichairpics’.

The actress is none other than Rebecca Gibney, the Logie Award winning star who has starred in several popular Aussie TV shows and movies.

In the cute black and white photo, Rebecca can be seen wearing a checkered dress with a white cardigan and knee-high socks.

Crossing her hands in her lap, she gleamed an infectious smile as she squinted her eyes for the photo.

Rebecca also recently shared a throwback photograph of herself from the 1980s when she was just 18.

In the photo, she could be seen with a heavy application of make-up and her blonde hair was styled with a teased fringe. 

‘Behold the teased fringe, the shoulder padded flannelette shirt under the white sweatshirt with denim jacket and a tonne of makeup. Long live the 80’s,’ the cheeky caption read.

Earlier this month, she also uploaded a glamorous black-and-white head shot of herself as a 17-year-old, sporting a retro hair-style and polka-dot blouse. 

‘A long time ago this 17 year old girl with the questionable hair style, encouraged by her Mum tried her hand at modelling [sic],’ she wrote in the caption. 

‘She was generally a bit shy, had little self confidence and was just your average teenage girl.’

Rebecca went on: ‘She also thought she was overweight and had bad skin. ( Like seriously dude – you had it soooo good).’
