Former Bandidos boss caught dealing cocaine is let off by a sympathetic judge after turning his life around and taking up boxing

A former bikie enforcer who sold illicit drugs before turning his life around and dedicating his life to charity has been spared jail. 

Brent Allchorn-Simpson, a former Sargent-at-arms for the Bandidos bikie club on the Gold Coast, was caught dealing cocaine in 2014. 

But despite convicted of the of the charges at Southport Court on Monday, sentencing Judge Julie Dick acknowledged his ‘dramatic’ change of lifestyle since his drug-dealing days and let him walk free from court. 

In sentencing Allchorn-Simpson to a three-year suspended sentence, Judge Dick said the former bikie had made a ‘remarkable recovery,’ according to a report by 7 News.

‘He was a full blown drug addict, acquiring drugs from wherever he could,’ his lawyer, Michael McMillan, told the court.    

Outside of court on Monday, Allchorn-Simpson said: ‘I’m really happy to move forward in a big kind of way.’

However, the 43-year-old father-of-four also acknowledged his past troubled life. 

‘I was a bit of a wild and ruthless man that really didn’t have much to live for, I guess, back then,’ he said.

His said his biggest concern over the drugs charges was the prospect of leaving his four children behind.

‘I walked out of there and broke down… I’ve carried such a weight on my shoulders…’ he said. 

‘I’ve got three little children that I dropped off at school this morning saying ‘we’ll see you this afternoon dad’ and in my heart I wasn’t sure whether I’d actually get there to pick them up,’ he said, choking back tears.

The court heard Allchorn-Simpson’s troubled life was sparked from childhood trauma. 

He was raised in a broken home and grew up in housing commission in Sydney’s west, according to the ABC.

He was removed from his father’s care at the age of 12 and was placed in foster care, before running away and living on the streets.

Allchorn-Simpson also revealed in a candid interview with The Weekend Addition that he was physically and sexually abused as a child and suffers from Bipolar Type 2 Disorder.

His broken childhood led him to crime, drugs, and bikie gangs, which saw him eventually imprisoned for six-years for drug importation.

During his stint in prison, Allchorn-Simpson admitted he regularly thought of committing suicide and suffered from severe depression.

Now, the family man wants to continue his charity work and make a difference to those also suffering from mental illnesses.
