Ronda Rousey will take a break from wrestling to start a family in a move she called an ‘impregnation vacation’.

The former UFC bantamweight champion – who joined WWE last January – posted a picture on Instagram of her and husband Travis Browne with the message yesterday.

It comes as Rousey, 32, was set to take time away from the ring after an injury in WrestleMania last week.

Ronda Rousey posted the message on Instagram yesterday, with a picture of her kissing her 36-year-old husband Travis Browne

She lost her first WWE fight to Becky Lynch at the Showcase of the Immortals event after reportedly breaking her hand.

Rousey was picked up by microphones in the Barclay Center, New York City, saying: ‘It’s fine, I think I might have broken my knuckle’.

Reports have emerged that she will have the hand operated on today and an episode of her YouTube show Ronda On The Road showed her getting it X-rayed.

Rousey has made no secret of her desire to start a family.

‘I’ve not kept it a secret that I would definitely want to start a family,’ Rousey told ESPN in January.

‘But how do you go about doing that?

‘I love this way more than I thought that I would. So do you just keep going until you just happen to get pregnant?

‘Or should you stop and go try and get pregnant? Or is going and trying to get pregnant putting yourself on the spot and then you’re less likely to get pregnant?

‘I’ve never had a baby before, I don’t know these kinds of things.

‘It would be kind of cool to just keep acting and then one day, ‘hey, surprise twist, I’m pregnant.’ That would be fun.’

She added: ‘There’s a lot of things up in the air. A lot of decisions that we’ve gotta make as a family. I’m trying to figure it out as I go along.’

Rousey is under contract with WWE until 2021 and bosses are said to want the fighter back in the ring for a rematch with Lynch at WrestleMania 36.

The event is next April in Tampa, putting her against the clock if she is to have a child and take part.
