Roosters footy star who left the Rabbitohs after row with Russell Crowe is caught flipping the bird

A Roosters footy star who left the South Sydney Rabbitohs after he was berated by owner Russell Crowe has been caught flipping the bird after beating his old team.

Luke Keary, 26, was filmed displaying his rude finger in Saturdays preliminary NRL final between the Sydney Roosters and Crowe’s Rabbitohs.

Keary, who appeared ecstatic to beat his old club, followed the mischievous manoeuvre with a cheeky grin as he realised he had been caught on camera.

Mr Crowe appeared less than impressed with the Bunnies’ performance on Saturday, as he was photographed looking somber in the stands.

Keary, who left the Rabbitohs after the 2016 season, has earned his stripes at the Roosters, becoming a central force in the squad – despite being berated by the New Zealand-born actor in the same year.

At a pre-season bonding session held at Mr Crowe’s regional New South Wales farm the pair got into a verbal altercation, fueled by alcohol.

Mr Crowe reportedly berated a number of the younger players and told Keary he was not worth the money he was paid in the preceding season.

The young star took a cab from the property at 2.30am after reportedly being told to leave.

Footy fans tweeted about the game and the bunnies failed chance at a grand final spot.

‘That blow-up with Rusty came back to haunt them tonight,’ one person tweeted.

In response to a tweet from Mr Crowe, a fan wrote: ‘We would have been there if you didn’t p*** off Luke Keary.’

Keary debuted for the Roosters in 2017 and will be a prominent figure in their bid to win a second premiership in six years.

The Roosters will take on Melbourne Storm in Sunday’s NRL grand final after beating the Rabbitohs 12-4.

Russell Crowe is a part owner of the South Sydney Rabbitohs and has been a fan of the team since childhood.
