A consumer safety group released its latest list of the ‘Most Dangerous Toys’ to avoid gifting your little ones this holiday season.
The annual list, released Tuesday by the World Against Toys Causing Harm, Inc. (W.A.T.C.H.), is based on a review of the most recent childhood injury and fatality statistics.
‘Behind the statistics, are real children that have been injured or tragically lost their life.’ W.A.T.C.H. president Joan Siff announced during this morning’s news conference.
The conference was held on behalf of Franciscan Children’s Hospital in Brighton, Massachussets as a way to further demonstrate the hazardous selections.
The gadgets listed have been deemed ‘inconsistent’ with ‘inadequate warnings, cautions and age recommendations,’ according to an NBC report.
The top ten most hazardous toys for 2017 are as follows:
Pull Along Pony

‘The numbers don’t tell the full picture. Recalls are only a band-aid. Dangerous toys shouldn’t reach the hands of consumers in the first place,’ Siff said in the statement.
Fidget Spinners were recalled earlier this year as the item includes mini parts that have been deemed to be a potential choking hazard.
‘We don’t need a testing lab to know that’s a strangulation and entanglement hazard,’ Siff added.
The Pull Along Pony, which includes a 19-inch cord, raises strangulation concerns among children of all ages.
The Wonder Woman Battle-Action Sword and Spider-Man drone can lead to bodily injuries.
‘W.A.T.C.H. says there have been at least 15 toy recalls since last December,’ according to NBC.
