Samantha Armytage giggles as she chats to Dean Jones

She recently hit out and said she was sick of the constant attention surrounding her love life. 

And on Sunrise on Thursday, ‘happily single’ Samantha Armytage was in her element when she interviewed former cricketer Dean Jones, 56. 

The 41-year-old TV personality admitted how thrilled she was to interview the cricket legend, admitting on Instagram that he was her ‘childhood crush.’

Sam and Dean shared a laugh when they spoke about the third Ashes Test, and Sam soon took to Instagram to share a snap of the interview, and her giggling during the chat. 

‘When you interview your childhood crush…. #deanjones #zincCream,’ she captioned the shot. 

On the day, Sam looked chic in a red dress, and showcased a golden tan.

In August, Sam opened up about her love life to The Daily Telegraph, insisting she’s single after sharing a flirtatious exchange with a handsome police officer on Sunrise.

She soon hit back at the publication for the article, saying she’s sick of the attention surrounding her relationship status.

On Instagram, Sam said she finds the personal questions rather trivial, when she is ‘one of the country’s senior female journalists.’

She said she gave the interview to The Daily Telegraph at the Myer fashion show, after she was ‘accosted’ about her ‘relationship status.’

‘And ex boyfriends (both real & fictional.) Hence a mean (& b**hy!) half-page story on, literally, nothing,’ Samantha wrote online.

‘I politely (but internally rolling my eyes) answered the questions. But next time, I won’t.’

She added: ‘I have minors in both American Politics & PR/marketing… so if you ever want to ask me any intelligent questions (including but not limited to; our politicians’ citizenship, the state of the Australian cricket team, beef prices…) I’d be happy to answer them.’

During the chat, Samantha insisted to The Daily Telegraph that she’s single, after speculation she was ‘dating’ again peaked on Thursday after a flirtatious exchange with Mason on Sunrise.

‘I am having fun at the moment but that is it, I will keep you posted,’ Samantha told the publication.

The Sunrise breakfast host claimed the comment she ‘may be dating’ was said as a bit of fun.

Samantha reportedly told the publication: ‘I have learnt absolutely nothing about relationships over the years… I am still as hopeless at it as I was when I was 21.’ 

While Samantha is open to finding love again, the Sunrise host has previously said there is ‘no way’ she is using popular dating app Tinder.
