Actress and model Kim Porter passed away on Thursday at the age of 47 after she was said to be battling the flu that turned into pneumonia.
And it seems her ex and father to three of her children Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was absolutely ‘devastated’ upon learning the news.
According to a source for People, the 49-year-old rapper maintained a very positive relationship with Porter.

‘Diddy is devastated and shocked,’ said the source, ‘he and Kim were still very close friends and co-parents even though their romantic relationship didn’t work.’
The source also added that Diddy believed that ‘they were still a family.’
The model, actress and mother of four — including three children with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs — was found dead in her home on Thursday.
The actress and model’s cause of death, however, has not yet been confirmed.
Kim’s close friend, Kimora Lee Simmons, 43, was seen sobbing outside Kim’s house.

Simmons was beside herself as stood in the garage alongside other loved ones to Porter, who suddenly passed away Thursday after suffering flu-like symptoms and possibly pneumonia for several weeks, according to TMZ.
Celebrities took to social media to express their condolences as Rihanna wrote on Instagram:
‘This is heavy. heartbroken about this man. we lost a real one today, beautiful inside and out. so many will be affected by this, some won’t even know why…but the whole world was graced by the vibrance in your spirit.’

Authorities arrived at Porter’s Los Angeles home around 11.30am on Thursday after receiving a call that someone at the residence was in cardiac arrest.
A source told TMZ that Porter had been suffering from flu-like symptoms and possibly pneumonia for several weeks.
Kim reportedly phoned her doctor just yesterday and said she wasn’t feeling any better, another source told the gossip site.

The exact cause of death remains unclear.
Diddy’s representative confirmed Porter’s death and asked that the family be given ‘privacy at this time’.
Porter and Diddy dated for 13 years. They share three children together, twin girls Jessie James and D’Lila, 11, and 20-year-old son Christian.
The model and actress also had a son, Quincy, from her relationship with R&B producer Al B. Sure!.

Porter and Diddy were seen together just last month as their entire family came out to support the premiere of Quincy’s film The Holiday Calendar.
Porter was an accomplished model and actress, appearing on the covers of Runway and Essence Magazine.
She also made appearances on shows including Law & Order, as well as the films The Brothers and Mama, I Want To Sing.
Porter and Diddy were on and off for more than a decade, their dramatic splits and reconciliations frequently making national headlines in the late 90s and early 200s.
