Seattle man snatches lottery ticket dispenser from store

Surveillance video from a gas station outside of Seattle, Washington, shows a man entering the convenience store and snatching an entire dispenser of lottery scratch-off tickets from the counter before fleeing in a getaway car.

Police are searching for the suspect who stole the dispenser worth $2,300 from the gas station’s store in the Renton Highlands area in late August.

The store clerk is seen with a bat and attempts to catch the man, but his white getaway car sits right outside of the shop making it easy for the thief to escape.

It’s believed the robbery was planned in advance.

‘They parked directly in front of the ramp that led up to the front area of the gas station. The man walked in and immediately went to that ticket dispenser, ripped it off and high-tailed it. He knew exactly what he was doing,’ Commander Dave Leibman with the Renton Police Department told Fox Q13.

The suspect is described as white, with a light brown or dark blonde goatee and mustache, wearing an olive colored shirt and Under Armour baseball cap.

Police say they know who the registered owner of the white car is, but it is not the same person who appears in the video.

There may be a break in the case though, as one Facebook user posted about a home burglary with images of the suspects and car, which match the description of this incident.

In the second incident, the victim posted saying the two robbers stole jewelry, handbags, and clothing from their home.

The post is from August 29, just two days after the theft at the gas station.

A white car that appears to be a similar make and model is also is pictured. And the male suspect is accompanied by a blonde woman.

For now, police are hoping that the public can help identify the thief.
