Two pedestrians have been taken to hospital after a car ploughed into a shop window in west London.  

The Ford Focus smashed into the store in Edgware Road at 6pm, with a man and a woman confirmed injured.

The incident is not believed to be terror related.

Shocking pictures showed the man and woman lying on the ground as they received treatment from paramedics.

Shattered glass is scattered across the floor of the shop, with the blue car wedged through its doorway.

Several people are rumoured to have been hurt in the crash, but this is yet to be confirmed by emergency services.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: ‘Officers were called shortly after 18:00hrs on Thursday, 7 December, to reports of a car in collision with a shop-front in Edgware Road, W2.

‘Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the location.

‘Two pedestrians have been taken to hospital. We await an update as to their condition.
