A shamed headteacher crushed his wife’s phone with his bare hands while accusing her of having an affair, a court heard today.

Thomas lost his £51,000-a-year job in October after being convicted of groping a mum at his school and buying her a pair of white knickers.

Wife Donna stuck with him despite his conviction for sexual assault – but a month later he allegedly attacked her at their home in Fairwater, Cardiff.

Cardiff Magistrates Court heard the couple had been to a pub together before Thomas accused his wife of having an affair with another man. 

Thomas grabbed his wife’s phone and squeezed it with his bare hands in a fit of rage until the screen cracked, the court heard. 

Mr Thomas then punched his wife in the face causing her to ‘black out’ before he kicked her in the back.

She told the court: ‘It was getting heated and eventually when we got home I was trying to keep the peace.

‘Kevin wanted to see my phone. I gave him my phone.

‘He was getting angry because it was PIN protected and he was getting really to the point where he was squeezing my phone and the phone screen cracked.

‘He was saying I was sleeping around with people. He was calling me a “s**t” and a “s**g”.

‘All I remember is him punching me in the head and I remember grabbing his shirt and ripping it and then I remember falling and then my memory goes at that point.

‘I was laid out on the floor in the dark and he came in and started kicking me in the back.’

Thomas, now of Swansea, South Wales, denies assaulting his wife.

He claims his wife headbutted him and she injured herself by falling into a door frame or wall. 

Shamed Thomas lost his job at the 200-pupil Glan-yr-Afon Primary school in Llanrumney, Cardiff, after he was found guilty of sexual assault.

A court heard he became ‘infatuated’ with the mum at his school and groped her in his office after he ‘rocked his pelvis and clicked his fingers’ at her.

Thomas also bought her a pair of knickers and told her: ‘They will look lovely on you.’

He told the mum he had a ‘lovely dream’ about her wearing the white knickers – leaving her in fear of being alone with him. 

The trial in front of by District Judge Bodfan Jenkins, continues.
