A candy company is advertising for new lolly tasters – but there’s a catch, you have to have a high-sour tolerance.

Volunteers must have a high threshold for the sour treats and it will be tested.

Applicants must eat a whole lemon without pulling a face and appear to be enjoying it.

Their taste receptors are required to be fully functioning to be on the panel, so they must be able to acknowledge it is in fact sour.

Sour Patch Australia’s head taster, Sarah Calman will lead the panel and the new, incredibly sour products will be tested.

‘Sour Specialists on the panel will need to prepare for watery eyes and extreme scrunched-up faces from the super ‘sour-then-sweet’ flavour punch,’ Ms Calman said.

She said: ‘There are a number of secrets to creating delicious sour-tasting treats and we’re looking for committed fans who can help unlock tastebud tingling combinations’.

Applicants are urged to apply at Sour Patch Australia’s Facebook page and will be notified by June 8 if their successful.
