Billionaire playboy Stewart Rahr has knocked more than a third of the price of his enormous $95 million Hamptons mansion after failing to find a buyer in almost three years.
Dubbed ‘Stewie Rah Rah, the No 1 King of All Fun’, the former owner of pharmaceutical wholesaler Kinray made headlines when he bought the private 25-acre property for $45 million in 2004.
The 18,000-square-foot home, known as Burn Point or ‘Dracula’s Castle’, with eight bedrooms, 12 full bathrooms, three half-bathrooms, and 200-year-old antique flooring, will now set back wealthy buyers just $59 million.
Mr Rahr initially dropped the price to $75 million after not getting any bites and, apparently serious about selling, has now given in to a slower market and chopped another $16 million off his demands.
There are water views from nearly every room in the house along with two elevators, an eat-in kitchen with commercial grade appliances, a professional home cinema, and a wine cellar.
Outside, the property has a massive 2,000 feet of direct water frontage on Georgica Pond, as well as a pool, tennis court with a viewing pavilion, a boat house, a private dock, and a gazebo.
Mr Rahr sold Kinray in 2010 for $1.3 billion and then paid his ex-wife Carol $250 million in a divorce settlement after 43 years of marriage.
