Sydney delivery driver runs into a car door

Dashcam footage has captured the moment a car suddenly opens its door on a busy Sydney road and knocks a rider off their scooter.

The video shows the car in front coming to a stop nearing a set traffic lights in the Sydney CBD, before the passenger side door opens.

Just as the person opens the door, a scooter attempts to lane filter up the side, before being knocked from their vehicle.

The incident divided social media, with many noting it is illegal to lane filter alongside parked cars, with others saying the passenger should have checked the mirror.

‘The rider disgusted me the most. He rode too fast and illegal to ride on that lane,’ one person commented.

‘This is why you dont let people get out of the car when youre in the middle of the road,’ another social media user said.
