As his parents watched backstage, Maddoc, dressed in gray slacks, a matching vest, and a blue button-down shirt, launched into his performance, detailing his passion for rapping and his aspirations.

He delivered lyrics such as ‘People knowin’ my name / My life has changed / It’s never gonna be the same / Keeping up the energy / Keeping up the flame’, showing off his impressive diction and sense of rhythm.

Maddoc included a shout-out to Heidi in his rap and pointed to the judge as he rapped: ‘Heidi you wanted to know what’s coming next / I’m just giving now more than the people expect / I’m Patches’.

‘I’m never gonna forget this experience, and it was just wonderful being out here,’ he told Seacoast Online.

Backstage, he told the publication: ‘Even if you were amazing in your first audition, if you don’t do something new or something that was better than the last time, you’re out. Like, that’s it.’

Still, Heidi said she was ‘very honored’ by the shout-out, and called his performance ‘a step up from last time’.

Simon said the teen is worthy of a ‘kids’ Hamilton’.

‘My big dreams are to perform in front of big audiences and make people smile, but also I’ve wanted to have one of those blue verification checks on Instagram,’ Maddoc said before taking to the stage.

‘Now that I’m here, I feel like I’m getting just a little bit closer to my dream.’
