The Voice: Kelly Clarkson nabs talented powerhouse Amber Sauer

Kelly Clarkson during her first season as a judge on The Voice has become a force to be reckoned with on the NBC singing competition show.

The 35-year-old Stronger singer annoyed the other judges on Tuesday by bagging talented powerhouse Amber Sauer.

Amber has been influenced by ‘all of the big divas’ and already has sung background for Natalie Stone and other artists.

The 35-year-old California singer, belted out a version of Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You, wowing the entire panel.

Kelly was the only person with team space left, so she hit her buzzer enthusiastically.

‘I am so happy that no one could turn their chair,’ she beamed.

‘That was from the soul,’ she told Amber.

Amber’s performance marked the final blind audition for this season of The Voice.

The first artist to audition was Genesis Diaz, a first generation Cuban immigrant who lives in Miami.

The 19-year-old performed Praying by Kesha and then got to choose between Blake Shelton and Adam Levine.

‘I have one spot left on my team,’ said Blake, urging Genesis to complete his roster.

But Genesis went with the Maroon 5 frontman.

‘Adam looks like he works at a resort in Miami…maybe there was some connection there,’ grumbled Blake, who has been ridiculing Adam’s Hawaiian shirt for weeks.

Iowa singer Sharane Calister struggled through foster care after her parents became drug addicts. She was also separated from her twin sister while in care.

The 24-year-old sang Make It Rain by Ed Sheeran, causing Alicia Keys and Kelly to turn their chairs.

‘It’s disrespectful not to turn around for someone with that kind of talent,’ said Kelly, who was certain she would lose against Alicia.

Sharane not surprisingly became the final member of Team Alicia.

‘I’m broken ya’ll,’ lamented Kelly.

Adam and Kelly also wanted the 17-year-old singer.

‘When I see cowboy boots I usually run for the hills, but I don’t care, I’m going to fight for you Dallas,’ declared Adam.

‘Let’s do this Dallas,’ urged Blake.

Predictably Dallas chose Blake, completing his team.

Allen Pride Bowser, a 24-year-old Philadelphia resident, had changed his name middle to ‘Pride’.

‘That’s the way you should live your life, you should really take pride in it,’ he said.

Allen sang What You Won’t Do for Love by Bobby Caldwell, but no one turned.

‘You’re fantastic,’ consoled Adam, while Kelly told him she was looking for a bit ‘more variety’ in his vocals.

The 22-year-old country/pop artist went with Peter Pan by Kelsea Ballerini.

Adam turned for the Pennsylvania native.

‘I’ve never been more excited about a one chair turn in my life,’ beamed Adam, who has been hoping to snatch a country artist from Blake for ages.

Adding: ‘Jackie was a revelation to me. I’ve got my little pop country superstar…she’s amazing.’

‘I can’t believe I just made the last spot on Team Adam,’ grinned Jackie.
