The fire is now under control and a Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said there were no patients treated as a result.

It is not yet known what caused the fire.

Station Officer Brenden Riches said strong winds may have contributed to the force of the fire.

‘There were strong winds today which fanned the flames into other houses… unfortunately it did take us some time to get here because it is a remote location and we did have some issues with water supply,’ he told the Sunshine Coast Daily.

‘My heart goes out to the people who have lost their homes today.’
