He’s The Bachelor star who took on the gruelling challenge of Australian Ninja Warrior.

And on Sunday, Tim Robards, 34, revealed he is set to take on another challenge: the annual Bondi Barefoot race.

The Sunday Telegraph reported the reality star is gearing up to partake in one of the event’s new races, the Celebrity Barefoot Bolt.

‘There are actually a lot of benefits to it’: The Bachelor’s Tim Robards (pictured) told The Sunday Telegraph he is conditioning his body for sand sprinting so he can take part in the Celebrity Barefoot Bolt in September

The exercise-junkie told the publication he has been training his body to get used to sand sprinting in preparation for the event on September 24 this year.

‘A lot of people don’t understand soft sand running; they think it’s worse on the body. But there are actually a lot of benefits to it,’ he told the publication.

‘I think there are a few myths about it, there is less impact on the body’s joints and it’s great for your core strengths.’

In July, Tim gave it his all in Channel Nine’s physically demanding game show, Australian Ninja Warrior.

However, he struggled to get past the first round and came undone on the ‘Cones To Cargo Net’ obstacle after losing his grip and plummeting into the water below.

Despite failing to make it through to the semi-finals, Tim was in good spirits post-race, telling host Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff, ‘I just wasn’t getting the swing right.’

He joked: ‘I was a bit hot. Felt like a dip – you know!’
