Today host Karl Stefanovic gets ‘rowdy Aussie’ hecklers escorted from outdoor broadcast in London

The Today show presenters are used to filming their breakfast program in a closed-set Channel Nine studio in Sydney.

And on Tuesday, Karl Stefanovic was left looking very unimpressed when a gang of hecklers interrupted his broadcast from London, England.

The 43-year-old gave several ‘rowdy Aussies’ a dirty look after they jeered during his live cross and offered the withering put-down: ‘Their parents will be proud.’

Broadcasting from late in the evening UK time to Australian breakfast TV viewers, Karl and his co-host Georgie Gardner were momentarily distracted by passers-by.

The group, holding Australian flags and novelty items, were heard yelling and chanting, as Karl stopped mid-sentence to glare at them angrily.

‘Sorry, rowdy Aussies’ the presenters said as they attempt to regain their composure.

Returning from the ad break, the pair smiled for viewers at home as the broadcast appeared noticeably more quiet.

Karl explained: ‘We just had to escort some young Australians to the door.’

‘They were a little excitable, weren’t they? A little rowdy,’ Georgie added.

Georgie returned to co-host the show on Wednesday, after being absent from broadcasts with a bout of illness.
