The wife of Dan Scavino, one of President Donald Trump’s top aides, has reportedly filed for divorce.

Jennifer Scavino filed for divorce on January 18, 2018, in Dutchess County, New York, according to the Huffington Post.

The Scavinos, who have two children, own a home in the area and have been married since September 2000.

Scavino, 42, currently serves as the White House social media director.

He is also the assistant to the president, which is the highest-ranking staff position in the White House.

He is a longtime Trump confidant who met the now-president when he was a caddie and bag room attendant at the now-Trump National Golf Club in 1990.

He eventually became the executive vice president and general manager at the golf club.

Scavino also served as the director of social media for the real estate mogul’s presidential campaign and his transition team.

He started working on Trump’s campaign in 2015 and was one of several folks to take the stage for Trump’s campaign stop in Poughkeepsie to introduce the then-candidate, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.

Scavino made numerous appearances by Trump’s side on the campaign trail.

In July 2016, Scavino came under fire after he tweeted from Trump’s account an anti-Hillary Clinton tweet that featured the Star of David.

Scavino said at the time that he found the image online, and blasted the mainstream media in a tweet that invoked his Jewish family.

‘For the MSM to suggest that I am antisemite is AWFUL. I proudly celebrate holidays w/my wife’s amazing Jewish family for the past 16 years.’

A year later, in June 2017, Scavino received a warning from the US Office of Special Counsel for using an official-looking Twitter account for campaign purposes.

The Counsel said he violated the Hatch Act, which prevents executive branch officials from using their positions to influence elections.

Scavino had urged the defeat of a Michigan congressman who helped derail efforts earlier this year to repeal and replace the Obama health care law.

The violation came when Scavino tweeted at Rep Justin Amash (R-Mich.) and encouraged Trump supporters to defeat him.

Jennifer suffered from chronic Lyme disease for 14 years after she was bitten by a tick.

Scavino has said in the past that he believes his wife was bitten outside their home while she was gardening.
