Tory former minister Nick Boles has tonight launched a furious attack on the Prime Minster – accusing her of ‘constantly disappointing’.

The Conservative MP accused his party leader of ‘lacking ambition’ and told her to ‘raise your game’.

He also tore her record on the NHS, housing and today’s controversial decision not to order a judicial review into the release of black cab rapist John Worboys.

The extraordinary attack is a sign that the Tories could be plunged into a fresh bout of party in-fighting.

It comes after the Mrs May’s authority as leader took a fresh blow after she carried out a disastrous Cabinet reshuffle last week.

Mr Boles, who was business minister until July 2016, said on Twitter: ‘There is a timidity and lack of ambition about Mrs May’s Government which means it constantly disappoints.

‘Time to raise your game, Prime Minister. #worboys #HousingCrisis #NHSfunding #etcetc’

The remark is a major blow for the PM who has been scrambling to try to get her premiership back on track.

She had hoped that her position had been shored up after the successful Budget and securing the agreement of the EU to move on to the next round of Brexit talks.

But fresh questions w ere raised about how long she would last in No10 after her calamitous reshuffle, when her plans for a revamp were derailed when ministers refused to be budged from their jobs.

Tory MPs had been led to believe that a string of new faces would be promoted to her top team, refreshing the Cabinet and the party at large.

But the long-awaited reshuffle fell flat when very few new Cabinet ministers were appointed.

Instead the Prime Minister appointed hotly tipped new generation of Tory MPs to become party vice chairs.

Justice Secretary David Gauke today ruled out the Government launching a case because legal advice said it would lose.

Mr Gauke insisted he could not justify the Government launching a case with no chance of winning.

Despite the advice, the Justice Secretary told MPs he ‘fully supports’ the right of someone else to bring a judicial review.

He admitted: ‘I know this will disappoint the victims in this case and members of this House given the crimes for which he has been convicted.

‘On a personal level, candidly I share those concerns.’

Worboys is due to be released from prison less than 10 years after he was jailed for drugging and sexually assaulting 12 women and raping one.

Police have said they believe he could have attacked up to 102 victims while lawyers believe there were 105.
