Trump drops in on corporate Christmas party at Mar-a-Lago

It may have been a private Christmas party, but when you decide to host it Mar-a-Lago, President Trump’s Florida residence, anything can happen.

And while the President was back at his ‘winter White House’ this weekend, he took it upon himself to gatecrash a corporate party that was being held in the golfing resort’s ballroom this weekend.

The assembled guests appeared to be only too happy to spend some time with the uninvited guest with many of them taking out their cellphones to capture the moment, snapping a selfie or simply posting video to Instagram.

There were smiles on faces all around as the President introduced himself and  shook hands with people who were enjoying their Saturday night in the grounds of the lavishly decorated country club.

Such behavior by the President at his Palm Beach residence is common.

In February he gatecrashed a wedding while the Japanese prime minister Shinzō Abe was in town.

Both Mr Trump and Mr Abe were said to have stepped into the wedding completely unannounced where.

A guest filmed a minute-long video of Mr Trump’s impromptu speech, which was then shared online.

Mr Trump says in the video: ‘I said to the prime minister of Japan, I said, ‘come on, Shinzo, let’s go over and say hello”.

A few months later in August, a similar thing happened when Trump gatecrashed another wedding at his New Jersey golf course.

It’s a occurance that is now being used by his resorts as a selling point.

‘If he is on-site for your big day, he will likely stop in & congratulate the happy couple,’ a brochure reads.

‘He may take some photos with you, but we ask you and your guests to be respectful of his time and privacy.’

However, critics accused Mr Trump of using his position to market his businesses and the club has since has dropped the claim on its leaflets.

As the weekend came to an end of the weekend, the President returned back to the White House.
