Video shows drunk mother being pulled over by police

Brandy Lerma, 31, was arrested on DUI charges in Palm Beach, Fl. last Saturday

A shocking dashcam video shows an alleged intoxicated mother erratically driving with her toddler unbuckled in the backseat.

Brandy Lerma, 31, was spotted weaving along a road by a tow truck driver last Saturday in West Palm Beach, Florida.

When police pulled Lerma out of the car, they said they found her three-year-old child unbuckled in the backseat.

In the astonishing police video, Lerma is seen stumbling about on the side of the road before admitting to the officer she had two ‘cups’ of Fireball.

The mother tripped over herself and slurred her words during the field sobriety test.

Police said Lerma confessed to not only drinking whiskey, but also to taking Perocet and Xanaz before she got behind the wheel, reported the Palm Beach Post.

Now, Lerma, who has had multiple traffic citations, is facing several charges including DUI and child abuse.

Tow truck driver Juan Martinez called in to police to report Lerma’s erratic driving.

‘I was afraid she was going to kill someone,’ Martinez said in a statement to detectives with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, according to CBS12.

Martinez said she nearly hit four cars and looked drunk or under the influence.

The video shows an officer tailing behind Lerma’s car as she almost swerved into an oncoming traffic lane.

Lerma was pulled over on side of the road and the officer noted that he was ‘greeted with an extremely strong odor of an unknown type of alcoholic beverage.’

The deputy added: ‘The odor grew stronger as she spoke.’

Lerma is heard in the video offering up an explanation of how much she drank, saying that she had 'maybe a little' before mentioning she had 'two cups of Fireball'

Police said she also admitted to taking Xanax and Perocet

The arresting officer continued in the report: ‘Lerma’s speech was also slurred and she was initially unable to locate the documents I requested from her despite the fact that they were plainly visible to me inside her wallet.’

The video shows officers removing a child from the back of the car, as police claim the three-year-old was unrestrained.

The report claims that Lerma failed ‘to maintain a single lane’ while she drove.

A DUI team was sent to give Lerma a roadside test and according to the arrest report, she fell twice during the tests.

Lerma is heard in the video offering up an explanation of how much she drank, saying that she had ‘maybe a little’ before mentioning she had ‘two cups of Fireball’.

She then attempts to use her hands to indicate how large the cups of whiskey were.

The field sobriety test lasted for nearly 20 minutes, as Lerma is seen and heard giggling as she fails to walk in a straight line and stumbling over.

When she is finally put in the back of the squad car, she apparently realizes that the event isn’t so funny.

The mother begins screaming and kicking the back of the seat, yelling: ‘I will kill you! I will kill you!’

Lerma took two breath tests. The results, according to the sheriff’s office, registered a blood alcohol content of .200 and .187.

The legal limit in Florida is .08.

The Palm Beach Post reported that Lerma was released on a $3,000 bond and that the woman had multiple citations for passengers younger than 18 years old not wearing a seat belt.
