Vincent Janssen scores with first effort for Fenerbahce

Tottenham flop Vincent Janssen rediscovered his goal touch within minutes of making his debut on loan at Fenerbahce.

The striker, who struggled to make an impression at Sours after joining from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar for £18.5million in 2016. netted after just 16 minutes against Alanyaspor.

Janssen showed his predatory instinct to fire home from close range with his first effort on goal on Sunday.

The early breakthrough was a much-needed boost for Fenerbahce following a disappointing start to the Super Lig season.

Mathieu Valbuena scored twice either side of a Giuliano penalty as Fenerbahce claimed a  4-1 away win.

Janssen was replaced by another former Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado with six minutes left.

Janssen scored just six goals in 38 appearances and Fernando Llorente’s arrival pushed him even further down the pecking order.
