A violent teenage gang is allegedly responsible for a sickening attack on the streets of Perth.

Disturbing footage of the moment a man is punched in the head and knocked to the ground emerged online yesterday.

Business owners along the William Street strip told 7 News the teenagers are there often trashing restaurants and starting fights.

And on Thursday the boy who filmed the incident claimed the victim was ‘being racist’ and deserved to be knocked out.

‘None off yous know the full story that guy was being racist but no one of yous care about that he deserved it saying we will go nowhere in life,’ the filmer wrote on Facebook.   

In the clip a young man can be seen eating a burger and holding a drink on William Street in Perth’s inner city. 

He is surrounded by a group of boys.

The group and the man appear to exchange words, but it is not clear what is said.

One of the boys then knocks the man’s drink out of his hand.

The two boys swing punches at him before one lands on his face and he is knocked to the ground.

His head smashes onto the pavement.
