‘We bring it with us’: Cher reveals her surprising backstage request before she tours Australia

She is notorious for her diva reputation – but at 72 years of age, Cher still has the ability to surprise.

The superstar singer has revealed her backstage requests while on tour in Australia are anything but demanding.

When asked about her dressing room requirements, she told The Daily Telegraph on Tuesday: ‘A cup of tea, and a glass of Dr Pepper’.

‘We bring it with us,’ she added. 

The singer had just arrived in Australia for her Here We Go Again tour – her first concerts Down Under since 2005. 

She will perform shows in Newcastle, Brisbane, Melbourne, Wollongong, Adelaide and Perth before wrapping up in Sydney.

The pop diva is set to perform her biggest hits including Believe, If I Could Turn Back Time, and I Got You Babe.

Cher was last in Australia back in March, when she attended the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

And despite performing for more than 50 years, the Strong Enough hit maker has revealed she still suffers from stage fright.

She made the shock admission in a recent interview with The Herald Sun, saying: ‘I always have had stage fright; not enough to not to do it but always enough that causes a certain amount of turmoil.’

Despite the anxiety that performing causes her, Cher said that she has been able to use it to her advantage. 

‘If you harness it (the stage fright), it works for you,’ she explained.
