West Ham squad relax on the beach in Miami during break from action

West Ham stars including Andy Carroll and captain Mark Noble have been enjoying their break from Premier League action by relaxing on the beach in Miami.

Temperatures in Florida are already approaching 30 degrees. But David Moyes’ squad do not appear to be feeling the heat despite their ongoing battle to avoid relegation.

West Ham currently sit 16th in the table, three points off the drop zone. But they have more than two weeks off before their next Premier League match – a clash with fellow strugglers Southampton.

Moyes has taken his players to Florida for a five-day warm weather training camp. And Carroll, Noble and Co have been making the most of their time spent nearly 4,500 miles away from their London base.

Manuel Lanzini was pictured enjoying a paddle in the sea alongside team-mates such as James Collins, Pablo Zabaleta and Angelo Ogbonna.

The scene was far more serene than the Hammers’ last home game – a 3-0 defeat by Burnley that was marred by unrest among some sections of supporters.

A number of fans invaded the pitch at the London Stadium, while others protested against the club’s board.

‘I have told the players that we are sticking together, that we must stick our chests out and go again,’ Moyes said after the game.

‘When I got here we were in the bottom three, and we aren’t now and we have matches left to aim to win to make sure we stay in that situation.’
