When you text your ex and get a rude reply

  • We’ve all experienced the temptation to send a text to an ex
  • Screenshots shared online prove it’s rarely a good idea to hit send
  • Capture cheeky propositions – and outrageous put-downs in return

We’ve all been there; alone, unoccupied, and thinking about an old flame.

But these screenshots shared online around the world are proof that texting an ex is rarely a sensible idea.

Lots of women on the receiving end of cheeky propositions from former partners used pictures – or a carefully chosen emoji – to deliver the message they struggled to sum up in words, such as an image of an appalled-looking Miranda Hart in response to an offer to ‘cuddle’.

Other hopeful messages were met with a firm ‘no’, or worse still, ‘who’s this?’

The next time your mind wanders to a past love, a scroll through these screengrabs will make you think twice before reaching for your phone.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and the recipient of this message agrees

Put down: Even if you're still hung up on your ex, there's no guarantee they feel the same way

Awkward: Saving someone in your phone under a joke name is all well and good... until they text you months later and you can't remember who they are
