Woman charged with attempted murder in Bringelly, Sydney’s west

A woman has been charged with attempted murder after an alleged home invasion to retrieve some clothing resulted in a double stabbing and shooting. 

Kristen Moriarty, 28, and a 32-year-old man linked to the Rebels bikie gang allegedly entered the property in Bringelly, in Sydney’s west, about 11.20pm on Monday.

Police were called to the property after reports the pair were allegedly armed with a knife and gun, but were then redirected to a neighbouring property.

Officers found a 38-year-old woman with stab wounds to her neck and hands, and a 44-year-old man, Vince Dattilo, with stab wounds to his chest and stomach. They were rushed to hospital and the woman remains in a serious but stable condition. 

A third occupant, a 44-year-old man was uninjured.

The alleged male attacker then fled the scene with the woman, police allege. 

As he attempted to escape, the man was allegedly shot in the elbow by Dattilo, according to Nine News.  

Police allege Dattilo shot the other man with a rifle that was in the property. He also remains under police guard in the hospital.  

A few moments later, police had established another crime scene where the alleged perpetrators had crashed their car into a tree. 

The 32-year-old was taken to hospital and remains under police guard, while Moriarty was uninjured and was arrested.

She was charged with aggravated break and enter, commit serious induction offence-wound and two charges of attempted murder and wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. 

She was refused bail and will appear in Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday.
