Woman creates hilarious Tinder profile for a LAMP

A teen who used Tinder to try and sell a lamp found herself inundated with a massive amount of matches – and a number of interesting offers.

Aline Cunia, 18, a student at SUNY Oswego University, was visiting her cousin Ariana’s house earlier in the week when she came up with the idea.

The cousin had a lamp she was looking to sell, and having always viewed Tinder as being a bit of fun, Aline thought she would create an account specifically for the appliance.

The account bore the simple name ‘Lamp’, and Aline wrote that it was 25. In the profile she wrote: ‘Not looking for hook-ups, just to sell my lamp. Serious inquiries only.’

To her shock, she found herself getting numerous matches, and the men using the other profiles weren’t shy about making their interest known.

‘Are you hot? How many watts??’ asked one user named Mike, whose profile photo consists of a close-up torso.

Some of the responses were more vulgar, with one man named Brandon asking if the lamp performs oral sex. ‘Idk but it’s electric,’ Aline responded.

Plenty of interest: A few of the responses were a smidge on the vulgar side - and even include an offer of drugs

Getting intense: Despite only having information about a lamp on the profile, Aline still has some men responding asking to hook up

Weeding them out: Despite asking for 'serious inquiries only', these were few and far between

‘I’ll give you a line of cocaine,’ was the follow up offer. Aline wasn’t so keen on that exchange.

She did her best to separate the serious offers from the less than, but one man proved a bit tricky, asking for the number of lumens the lamp has to offer – but then following that up with demanding ‘at least 50,000 lumens.’

In the end, it proved too tough to find a serious offer for the lamp, with the closest being from a man named Joseph, who later ghosted on her.

‘The closest I came was with a man who offered $120, but he wanted to meet in person,’ Aline explained to Mashable.

Back and forth: Aline kept her eye on the prize no matter how silly the conversations became

‘I didn’t necessarily want to do that since he only had one photo of himself and it was poor quality (usually a sign of a catfish or someone sketchy) so I declined.’

She asked for a shipping address instead, and offered her Venmo for the payment, but never heard from him again.

Before the ghosting incident, Aline shared a few of the funny responses on Twitter, writing: ‘I made a tinder to sell my lamp and got so many matches and messages that it crashed my phone and sent it into a crash loop. It’s cool though, I sold it. thanks Joseph.’

While the sale didn’t end up happening, it may have been a stroke of luck as her godmother revealed that the brass antique lamp might actually be worth upwards of $800.
