Woman found THREE deadly brown snakes trying to cool down in her laundry

An opportunistic snake seeking refuge from the hot weather in a sink has given a homeowner a huge surprise after she discovered it chilling in her laundry.

The woman left a few doors open at her home in Samford, in Queensland’s Moreton Bay region, to let some breeze in because she didn’t have air conditioning.

But the oversight left her on Saturday in the presence of quite the unwelcome intruder, a massive and extremely venomous eastern brown snake.

She sought assistance from Brisbane North Snake Catchers and Relocation’s Steve Brown, who came out about midday and had the slithery beast gone in no time.

‘It was a bit of a fright for her… She was petrified. She’s not opening [the doors] any more,’ Mr Brown told Yahoo7.

The following morning however as the heatwave continued, two more huge snakes came in search of salvation, each of them ‘tapping’ on her glass windows to be let in.

The larger of the two was at the front door, seemingly begging for someone to let it come inside, while the other was ‘tapping on the window’ in the courtyard.

The bigger one was bagged up by Mr Brown but the second one had already made tracks by the time he got there.

Mr Brown said the increased snake activity around her home could have been caused by the female reptiles, who emit a distinct scent when they ovulate.

‘If there is a influx of snakes this time of year around your place there’s a possibility there is a ovulating female close by, which the males can smell causing an increase of snakes around your property,’ he said.
