Woman showcases her super organised fridge and freezer

She’s the food blogger whose Pinterest-worthy pastel-coloured pantry went viral late last year.

And now, Adelaide blogger, Iryna Federico, 26, is back with a look inside the fridge/freezer of every organised person’s dreams.

From the colour-coordinated containers to the writing on certain drawers and sections, here FEMAIL takes a look inside Iryna’s incredible kitchen.

The 26-year-old also revealed exactly how she designed her fridge, and how you can replicate the look at home.

THE FRIDGE

Recreate Iryna’s fridge or freezer at home

* Label containers that will hold permanent items. For example, Iryna knows she’ll make more wedges when she uses up the ones she has, so she has a dedicated container for re-freezing.

* Iryna recommends investing in some decent containers – but she said you should spread this out over time as they can be expensive. Iryna loves OXO greensavers because they keep fruit and vegetables fresher for longer.

* Invest in glass containers which can go from fridge to freezer to oven – while they may be more expensive, they can be used in lieu of baking trays when busy.

* Keep your herbs in a glass vase in the fridge as this keeps them fresher for longer.

* Use rectangle or square containers to maximise space.

* Use chalk pen to write dates and ingredients on the glass – make sure you get one which will come off in the dishwasher.

Speaking to FEMAIL, Iryna explained that the aesthetic satisfaction that comes from her fridge is in no small part down to the containers she uses:

‘I keep everything in clear, BPA free plastic or glass containers and organise produce accordingly,’ she explained.

‘Anything that I use regularly, I keep in OXO greensavers. These things are amazing; they keep your produce fresh for weeks and come with removable drainage baskets so you can come home from the grocery store, wash everything and put it away!’.

Iryna added that she bought most of her containers from Howard Storage World and Peter’s of Kensington – often waiting for the sales to snap them up.

‘I also like to pre-fill water into glass bottles and add some fruit in summer, to encourage drinking as much water as possible while we’re at home,’ she added.

‘If it’s already there and ready to go, it’s always so much easier to drink.’

Iryna will also put her herbs in a vase of water – because it makes them last longer and helps to keep them fresh.

THE FREEZER

When it comes to her freezer, Iryna has a similarly detailed and thorough approach.

Again, the OXO containers take centre stage:

‘The removable drainage baskets make it so easy to wash produce as you bring it home and the containers themselves have superpowers and keep everything fresh for so much longer than I ever believed!,’ she explained.

However, also in her freezer, Iryna swears by Howard’s World Zak containers – which are originally deisgned for pantries, but work for freezers just as well:

‘I use the small ones to hold excess stock (usually frozen for Delilah [her daughter] on hot days) as well as extra hollandaise, garlic butter etc,’ she said.

‘I first freeze the contents in individual ice cube trays for portion size purposes and when ready, I empty them into the containers to free up the trays.

‘The larger ones I use for prepped potatoes (think wedges but in weirder shapes because I’m lazy) for a quick and easy dinner side, as well as my corn and peas, mixed berries, hash browns etc.’

The supremely-organised food blogger also loves ziplock bags for pre-made smoothie mixes, which she can keep in the side door of her freezer, all labelled with 'Smoothie Mix' (pictured)

‘Our smoothie mixes usually consist of mixed berries, bananas and spinach,’ Iryna said.

‘They can go straight in the blender for a quick, refreshing and healthy breakfast.’

THE PANTRY

Previously, Iryna enjoyed viral success, when she shared photos of her pantry on social media.

Not only was that space neatly arranged, but it was also colour-coordinated throughout with a delicate mix of pretty-hued pinks, luscious lavenders, baby blues and sunshine yellows.

Though Iryna at the time revealed her dream space took two years to complete, her passion project was one she’d had in mind for some time after spotting a pretty pastel pantry on Pinterest.

‘I started designing it before the builder even broke ground on our house and have only deemed it ‘officially’ finished a few months ago,’ she told FEMAIL.

‘I had our builder remove any shelving provision they had made in our quote and just ended up with a blank room.

‘I then found a local cabinet maker here in Adelaide who brought my design to life; he installed all the shelving approximately a month after we moved in.’
