Angry England fans have turned on Mystic Marcus after the psychic pig backed England to beat Croatia in the World Cup semi-final.
The pig, whose owner claims had a 100 per cent record before last night, predicted England would win the tie against Croatia on ITV’s This Morning on Wednesday.
But after seeing England lose 2-1 in extra time, Three Lions fans took to the internet to slate the predictive pig.
Many claimed Marcus told porkies and others simply posted photographs of bacon sandwiches with his name next to it in a veiled threat.
Right decision: Marcus had headed toward a pile of apples with England flags stuck into them in his pigsty in Derby on Wednesday’s show, leading people to believe we would win
Telling porkies: Lots of viewers flooded Twitter with comments about the pig on Wednesday
One fan Charlotte Wade wrote: ‘What a f*****g liar Marcus the pig turned out to be, snake.’
Rob Imossi wrote: ‘The worst thing about tonight’s result is realising Mystic Marcus isn’t psychic – he’s just a pig. And a fraud.’
While Karina wrote: ‘Mystic Marcus better be on my sandwich tomorrow with a side of ketchup, the big tease.’
Even This Morning hosts Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby poked fun at the pig.
As the show began, Phillip could be seen frying some food in a pan with a playful look in his eye, as he yelled out: ‘Holly, your bacon’s ready.’
Introducing the show, Holly said: ‘Marcus’ 100% record has been destroyed after he predicted an England win live on the show.
Hamming it up: The bacon jokes continued o social media after the show after Marcus’ faux pas
A crackling time: Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield joked about KILLING psychic pig, Mystic Marcus on This Morning on Thursday, who incorrectly predicted England would beat Croatia in the World Cup on Wednesday
The black micro pig has previously guessed the winner of the 2014 World Cup and the Wimbledon tennis finals by chomping down on apples – but claims of an unbroken record were in tatters after last night.
The eight-year-old prophesier had even predicted Brexit and that Donald Trump would win the US presidential election.
Owner Juliette Stevens, from Heage, Derbyshire, said: ‘Marcus is the seventh child of a seventh child and apparently they’re gifted with special powers.
‘A few years ago I was invited on a radio show because of Paul the octopus predicting results and they wanted to see if I had any animals that had the ability.
‘I hadn’t tried the seventh child theory out so thought I’d give it a go. They used apples and oranges and Marcus predicted the football results, it was amazing.’
Mystic Marcus, who has about 30 children and grandchildren, picked from apples of a similar size and colour to make it as fair as possible.
The apples included markers – such as pictures or flags – and Marcus gobbled down the winner.
His owner Juliette said: ‘I’m still really proud of my little mystic Marcus. There’s no way he’ll get eaten even though England have been beaten’
