‘You ask me this every single time’: Vince Colosimo’s touchy response to question about Leo DiCaprio

Australian actor Vince Colosimo appeared on Channel Nine’s Today show on Wednesday to talk about his latest film, The Second.

But things took a momentarily awkward turn when co-host Sylvia Jeffreys asked him about working with Leonardo DiCaprio in the 2008 movie Body of Lies.

Vince replied, ‘You ask me this every single time’, before leaning forward in his chair and declaring: ‘Don’t worry about Leo! Forget about Leo!’

The 51-year-old’s touchy response prompted much laughter from Sylvia, 32, and her colleague Ben Fordham, 41.

However, Vince quickly smoothed things over by insisting Leonardo is ‘a lovely bloke’, adding that he ‘loves coming to Australia he loves working here’.

‘All in all we’re still doing the same job. Trying to get a story out and play our characters,’ he said.

In mystery-thriller The Second, an author (played by Rachael Blake) takes her publisher (Colosimo) to her father’s estate in a bid to overcome writer’s block.

The movie, which also stars Susie Porter, is currently in cinemas and will later be available to stream on Stan.

Vince has spoken highly of working with his two co-stars in the psychological thriller.

In a recent interview with The Fix, Vince said: ‘A beautiful actress [Blake] who has a great sense of humour, they both do and for me, that’s everything. Obviously they’re incredibly talented, but a sense of humour is very important.’

Given the dark nature of the film, Vince and Rachael jokingly discussed the importance of being able to laugh during filming.

‘Have you ever gone out with someone that doesn’t have a good sense or humour – or your sense of humour? It’s hard. It’s really hard,’ Vince joked
