Young English woman killed in Sydney murder-suicide

The scene of a grisly murder-suicide was stumbled upon by a couple’s landlord when he went to deliver mail to their Newtown flat.

An English woman in her 20s was suspected to have been murdered by her partner, days before she planned to move overseas.

The young woman was found with head wounds lying beside the man aged in his 30s inside a tiny flat above the Persian Broil restaurant on King Street.

Police said they did not believe there was a killer at large and were investigating it as a murder-suicide after examining the scene on Friday.

‘At this stage we suspect it is a possible murder-suicide,’ Marrickville Local Area Command Inspector Geoff Olsen told the Daily Telegraph.

Police were combing CCTV from nearby businesses as they tried to piece together the couple’s final moments.
