10 transfers that could still go through before deadline

With Wednesday’s winter window deadline fast approaching, Premier League clubs will be working through the early hours to tie up any late moves.

This month has already seen Alexis Sanchez join Manchester United and on Monday, Daniel Sturridge made a shock loan move to West Brom.

But who else could move before the window slams shut? Here, Sportsmail gives you the lowdown on the 10 transfers that could still happen.

Chelsea’s Antonio Conte is among the bosses looking to add to his squad before deadline

Olivier Giroud (Arsenal to Chelsea)

Value: £30m

With Arsenal closing in on the club-record £55million signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund, it looks increasingly likely that Olivier Giroud could conclude the January transfer window at rivals Chelsea.

The Blues’ primary criteria for a new forward this month appears to be that the striker is over 6ft tall, capable of heading the ball and willing to serve as back-up to Alvaro Morata.

The 31-year-old France international — who is 6ft 4in — ticks all of those boxes and he will provide them with a different option up front.

Michy Batshuayi (Chelsea to Borussia Dortmund)

Value: £28m/loan

In a complicated chain of sale, Dortmund insist they will only sign off the 28-year-old Aubameyang’s release once they have a replacement. They have targeted Batshuayi on loan and Chelsea will agree to that if they can sign Giroud.

Batshuayi has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot in Antonio Conte’s side and wants first-team football — something he can expect in Germany.

Badou Ndiaye (Galatasaray to Stoke City)

Value: £18m

Stoke City are to close to ending their long search for an energetic midfielder by signing Senegal international Badou Ndiaye from Galatasaray.

Ndiaye has been capped eight times by Senegal, having played club football in Norway and Turkey and was signed by Galatasaray from Osmanlispor in 2017.

The 27-year-old will provide energy in Paul Lambert’s midfield, and will compete for a starting spot with the likes of Joe Allen and Darren Fletcher.

Eliaquim Mangala (Manchester City to Newcastle)

Value: £18m/loan

Newcastle United have asked about taking Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala on loan.

Mangala, 26, has been a target for Rafa Benitez since the summer and will be surplus to requirements after Laporte moves to the Etihad Stadium.

The Magpies are desperate to avoid relegation this season and Mangala will provide experience in a defence which has conceded 34 Premier League goals this season.

Andre Ayew (West Ham to Swansea)

Value: £20m

West Ham striker Andre Ayew is poised to rejoin Swansea City in a deal worth up to £18million.

The 28-year-old Ghana international has failed to impress since joining West Ham from Swansea for £20m in August 2016.

He will return to the Liberty Stadium outfit, for whom he scored 12 Premier League goals in 34 appearances.

Jake Livermore (West Brom to Crystal Palace)

Value: £16m

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson remains interested in West Brom midfielder Jake Livermore.

The England international only arrived at The Hawthorns from Hull City last January but could now head back to London.

Hodgson has already bolstered his midfield ranks this month with the loan signing of Erdal Rakip from Benfica.

Ibrahima Amadou (Lille to Crystal Palace)

Value: £20m

Lille’s Ibrahim Amadou is always wanted by Palace, with Hodgson keen to add the defender to his Selhurst Park squad.

The Palace boss has already completed the signing of centre-back Jaroslaw Jach on a three-and-a-half-year deal last week but is keen to bolster his defensive ranks with the addition of Amadou.

Jack Harrison (New York City to Manchester City)

Value: £5million

Manchester City are poised to sign Jack Harrison from New York City and loan him to Middlesbrough.

The England Under-21 international winger will cost around £4million to secure his services. Stoke City originally made a £3.25million bid for Harrison last week but talks stalled after the two clubs couldn’t agree on his fee.

The former Liverpool and Manchester United academy prospect has proved a big success in the MLS and earned a call-up to the England Under 21 squad earlier this season and made his debut as a substitute against Scotland.

Fyodor Smolov (Krasnodar to West Ham)

Value: £12million

With Ayew set to return to Swansea and Andy Carroll out injured, West Ham boss David Moyes is desperate to add a striker to his squad before the window closes.

The Hammers have been monitoring Fyodor Smolov all month and are expected to make their move before Wednesday night.

The striker, who has 28 caps for Russia, has managed 48 league goals for Krasnodar in 64 games.
