This is the shocking moment four masked men were caught on CCTV stealing a ‘staggering’ £100,000 worth of rings and watches from a jewellery shop.

Dramatic footage shows the four men smashing their way into a jewellery shop in Ely, Cambridgeshire in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Within minutes, the masked thieves ransacked the store before making off with more than £100,000 worth of rings and watches.

Detectives have released CCTV footage of the moment the four men smashed their way into a jewellery shop before making off with thousands of pounds worth of valuables.

The clip shows the first man smashing open the door of the shop to get in and setting off the burglary alarm.

He is followed by three other masked men with hoods and gloves carrying crowbars and large bags.

They quickly make their way to different corners of the store and begin smashing the glass cases and loading their bags with £100,000 worth of rings and watches.

Police were called to reports of a break in at The Italian Jewellers in High Street Passage, Ely at about 2.50am on November 13.

The thieves had ransacked the store before making off with more than £100,000 worth of rings and watches.

Detective Sergeant Ashley Ryan, who is investigating, said: ‘This was a smash and grab which saw a staggering amount of jewellery stolen in a matter of minutes.

‘I’m urging anybody who has any information about the incident, or who recognises the men, to get in touch as a matter of urgency.’
