2023 Tribeca Festival: Outlander’s Sophie Skelton and Caitriona Balfe ooze glamour at premiere

The stars of the hit Starz historical drama series Outlander hit the red carpet for the season seven premiere celebration at the BMCC Theater during the 2023 Tribeca Festival in New York City.

Leading ladies Sophie Skelton and Caitriona Balfe were the picture of elegance as they posed for adoring photographers ahead of the screening of the new premiere.

Season seven has been advertised as having 16 episodes, four more than normal, in the wake of the shortened season six that was due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Balfe being pregnant when it was shot in 2021.

But those 16 episodes are being broken up into two halves to air starting on June 16 through August 4, and then the back half with return sometime in 2024.

Outlander, which also stars Sam Heughan and Richard Rankin in the male leads, has been a huge hit for the premium cable network, along with Sony, due to its avid and loyal fan base since it made its debut back in 2014.

Lovely: Caitriona Balfe, 43, would also bring the glamour in a black spaghetti-strap dress

Balfe, 43, showed off her statuesque 5ft9in figure in an elegant black dress that emphasized showing off upper body with its spaghetti-strap design.

The Irish actress, who plays Claire Fraser, who has gone back in time to 18th century Scotland right after serving in World War II, would also carry a red clutch purse, and have her dark brown locks pulled up into a bun

Skelton, 29, would also opt to show some skin by wearing a pink gown with train that was open along the sides and back.

The British actress, who plays Claire and Jamie Fraser’s daughter Brianna, had her normally dark locks dyed blonde and pulled into a bun.

At a certain point the two female stars joined up with their castmates for a round of photos that included Balfe, Heughan, David Berry, Izzy Meikle-Small, Joey Phillips, Richard Rankin, Charles Vandervaart and John Bell.

In the seventh season of Outlander, the land the Frasers call home in Fraser’s Ridge in the New World is changing – and they must change with it, according to the Tribeca Festival website.

And now, in order to protect what they’ve built, the close family have to navigate the perils of the oncoming Revolutionary War.

Season seven of Outlander was just one of several premiere events being held on the third day of the annual event that takes place every spring in Manhattan.
