This year’s Splendour In The Grass festival is being targeted by thousands of music fans who have pledged to jump the fence and enter illegally.

Desperate enthusiasts who missed out on the $399 tickets to the sold-out three-day event plan on gate-crashing the area in North Byron Parklands from this Friday.

A Facebook event page called ‘Jumping Splendour 2k18’ has brought together more than 3800 non-ticket holders who want to make it in no matter what.

The plan focuses on sneaking a large group of people into the festival at night.

In response, Splendour In The Grass organisers warned fans of the consequences of entering illegally.

‘Anyone trespassing on the Splendour or neighbouring properties without an event ticket will receive an on the spot fine and removed from the festival,’ their Facebook post read.

‘Every system and access point you think you have mastered, we know about.’

The post also warned attendees who are under 18 that the police will call their parents if caught.

There have been illegal activities such as drug smuggling and jumping the fence in past years at the festival.

NSW Detective Inspector Brendon Cullen told the Gold Coast Bulletin anyone found jumping the fence will be fined and removed, and parents will be involved for any juvenile committing a crime.

‘It is an issue we deal with every year and there is plenty of security in place to combat these plans and others,’ he said.
