He made a surprise appearance during the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday alongside Eminem, Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J Blige, Kendrick Lamar and Anderson .Paak. 

And on Thursday, 50 Cent – whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III – took to Instagram where he hit back at fat-shaming trolls.

The iconic rapper, 46, asserted: ‘Fat shaming only applies when you’re ashamed of your fat’ and insisted: ‘they know I can drop the weight.’

Alongside a snap of an article reporting the fat-shaming 50 Cent was subjected to following his performance at the Super Bowl, he addressed the nasty comment. 

He wrote: ‘I call this teasing me, They’re just teasing me because they know I can drop the weight. That’s why I laugh with them.

‘Fat shaming only applies when you’re ashamed of your fat. LOL’

It comes after 50 Cent got raves for surprising Super Bowl viewers by performing his hit song In Da Club upside down.  

The superstar joined his fellow hip-hop his superstars at the NFL showpiece at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on Sunday and took viewers back to 2003 with a rendition of his mega-hit during the legendary halftime slot.

The Candy Shop hitmaker was suspended by his feet from the ceiling of a trailer in homage to the music video for In Da Club and was joined by a group of backing dancers for the bonus performance.

Before 50 Cent took to the stage for the meme-inspiring appearance, Dre and Snoop opened the show with Still Dre and California Love.

Despite reports that the NFL had asked performers to not make the sporting spectacle political, which was later denied by a spokesperson, Eminem, 49, took the knee at the end of his performance of Lose Yourself. 

Eminem was also joined for the performance by Silk Sonic’s Anderson .Paak, who played the drums for Lose Yourself.

Kendrick Lamar performed his 2015 song Alright, which became a rallying cry for the Black Lives Matter movement.
