A woman claims needles, pins and syringes ‘just come out’ of her legs and cannot explain how doctors found 70 of the sharp objects inside her limbs.
Anusuiya Devi, 35, from a small village in Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh, in northern India, said they have been appearing in her legs since 2012.
After having difficulties walking, sitting and standing for the past five years due to the excruciating pain, she is now begging medics to help her.
But they believe she must be inserting the sharp objects herself – yet the widow claims she has never self-harmed.
She said: ‘I’ve had this problem for five years. Needles just come out of my legs.
‘I have no explanation, I have no idea how they get in there and I’m fed of the constant pain now.
‘Doctors say this is some kind of sickness but none of them seem to be aware of it. I just want someone to help me, I am in pain every day. I want it to stop.’

No help from doctors
Anusuiya claims she develops small pimples on her legs which eventually grow bigger before they burst, start discharging and push out a needle or nail.
But her brother Awadhesh Kumar, who has lived with his sister for the last seven years since she lost her husband, said he does not believe his sister harms herself or does anything to her legs.

The agony has caused Anusuiya difficulties walking, sitting and standing for the past five years
He said: ‘It has been five years now and she’s in so much pain every day. I am really stressed for her.
‘There are three kinds of needles that come out of her body; nails, needles and syringe needles used in hospitals. We have no explanation.
‘I’m with her most of the time, and I’ve never seen her do anything to herself which would explain this. We just want someone to help us.’
Anusuiya, who is a widow, lives with her brother Awadhesh Kumar who says he’s never seen his sister self harm with needles
Anusuiya went to several local doctors in her area but none could help.
‘They all said she was ill but none could understand her condition. They just sent her away,’ Awadhesh added.
Never-before seen case
Surgeon Dr Naresh Vishal says he’s never seen a case like this in his career
She was finally admitted to a district government hospital in Fatehpur, on October 25, where doctors were left in shock by X-ray images.
Surgeon Dr Naresh Vishal, at the district government hospital, said: ‘She came to us in a lot of pain.
‘We did several X-rays including full body X-ray and we found 70 different kinds of iron needles in her legs below the knees.
‘We did a full body scan to see if there were nails in other parts of her body but there was nothing elsewhere. We only found needles in her legs, no where else.
‘Medically, it is not possible for such needles to just develop in a human’s body. So far we cannot confirm how the needles enter her body; but we suspect the patient has been self-harming.
‘We need to determine whether the patient has any kind of a mental illness and she forcefully inserts them.
‘I have never seen a case like this in my medical career. We spotted so many needles in her legs, we cannot understand how she’s coped with the pain for so long. She will have suffered greatly.
‘I am speaking to higher authorities and other doctors about her situation. And we hope to refer her to Kanpur where more qualified doctors could possibly research her condition and help her deal with this problem. We will certainly do all we can to help.’
MAN MIRACULOUSLY SURVIVES AFTER EATING 639 TWO-INCH NAILS FISHED OUT BY MAGNET
Surgeons retrieved 639 nails from a man’s intestines – using a magnet – and saved his life, it was reported last week.
The 48-year-old, who lives in India, is schizophrenic and had gobbled down the two-inch spikes which miraculously did not pierce his digestive system.
He was brought into hospital two weeks ago after vomiting repeatedly and had also complained about pain in his stomach.
Medics fished out the nails which in total weighed 1.3kg (6.61Ibs)
Doctors operated on his intestines by making a 10cm incision in his abdomen before using magnets to remove the foreign objects
A video has captured doctors examining them inside his intestines with an endoscopy and cutting him open to remove them. The surgery lasted for almost two hours.
