A 26-year-old woman has been arrested after leading seven police cars on a high-speed chase in a stolen car following an aggravated burglary.

She was arrested when the police pursuit came to an end on the Monash Freeway in Melbourne on Monday morning.

The pursuit followed an alleged aggravated burglary at a home in Pakenham, in Melbourne’s south-east.

The owner of the stolen vehicle, a Suzuki Swift, revealed she was at home when her car was allegedly stolen. 

‘I was upstairs for a few minutes, the door was wide open and I looked out and our back gate was open too,’ she told Seven News

‘I just saw my car drive past.’
