NRL star Thomas Burgess and his model fiancee Tahlia Giumelli have offered fans a rare glimpse inside their luxurious forever home’s renovations.

The couple, both 28, paid $2.61million for the four-bedroom property in Woolooware, in the NSW Sutherland Shire, in February.

Burgess and Giumelli, who are parents to toddler daughters Sophie and Elodie, have been renovating the home and sharing details of the remodel on their Instagram page ‘Building with the Burgesses’.

On Wednesday the couple shared a photo of builders working on the roof and backyard deck of the house built in 2002.

‘We started painting the exterior today. Who knew I would end up knowing all there is to know about white paint. Because there’s certainly a lot of options out there,’ the caption read.

‘We went with the full lexicon for the exterior. It has more of a dark (black) tint and with the amount of coverage we need and no visible roof to add any other colour we needed something that was white but not like a science lab white.

‘This is one coat on the back of the house so far and it’s made such a huge difference… seriously love it and the photos don’t do it justice.’

The couple revealed they decided to push renovations on the deck back until next year.

‘Also we already know we want a tv/lounge area at one end to watch all our sporting events and a bbq/kitchen servery at the other,’ they shared.

‘With beautiful lights to really make it feel warm and friendly at night. I didn’t think I would get so into decorating and renovating but once you see your vision come to life it’s amazing,’ Giumelli added.

The full remodel comes after Burgess and Giumelli spent the past 12 months searching for their perfect home.

Covering two floors, the home features four bedrooms on the upstairs level, including a master with a walk-in wardrobe and ensuite.

The ground level contains living and dining areas, a home office, and an entertainer’s kitchen, that leads out onto a patio with landscaped gardens and a swimming pool.

On their Building With The Burgesses page, Giumelli revealed that their first step is a ‘fresh coat of paint’ on all the rooms that have their own feature wall.

They also plan on ‘replacing the tiles with floorboards to really set the coastal vibe’, and are loving the ‘flat backyard’ for their young children to play.

Burgess, the brother of fellow footy stars Sam and Luke Burgess, sold his Little Bay penthouse last year for $1.5million.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs player still owns an apartment in Coogee in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, which he purchased for $1.2million back in 2016.

Burgess and Giumelli announced their engagement in December 2019 on their three-year anniversary.
