ECB have reprimanded Azeem Rafiq, Andrew Gale, Jack Brooks along with female cricketers Eve Jones, Danni Wyatt for ‘racist’ past social media posts… all five have admitted to the offences

The ECB have announced that five current and former players have been reprimanded for historical social media posts of a racist nature – including Azeem Rafiq and former Yorkshire coach Andrew Gale. 

As well as Rafiq and Gayle, England batter Danni Wyatt, Eve Jones of Birmingham Phoenix and Somerset’s Jack Brooks have also been reprimanded.

All five players have admitted to the offences.

The five players were all guilty of breaching ECB Directive 3.3.

This directive reads: ‘No such person may conduct themself in a manner or do any act or omission which may be prejudicial to the interests of cricket or which may bring the game of cricket or any Cricketer or group of Cricketers into disrepute.”

As well as this, Jack Brooks, Danni Wyatt and Eve Jones admitted to breaching ECB Directive 3.4. 

This states: ‘Each Participant is bound by and must comply with the ECB Anti-Discrimination Code.’
