Sarah Ferguson has posted a moving tribute to her friend Lisa Marie Presley, writing she is ‘deeply saddened’ over the death of her ‘sissy’.
Fergie shared the outpouring on Instagram after Lisa Marie, daughter of Elvis Presley, died after she suffered a cardiac arrest at her home in California yesterday, aged 54.
The Duchess of York, 63, wrote: ‘I say hello to you everyday and I love you my sissy and I will continue to say hello to you everyday.
‘You were my sissy, an amazing mother to Ben, Riley, Harper and Finley and a superbly loving daughter to Priscilla.

She added: ‘You have been my devoted friend for many years and I am here for your family to support and love them.
‘I am deeply saddened my sissy, you are in my heart.’
The pair are said to have become friends when they met in the US in 2009, and Lisa Marie attended the Duchess’ 50th birthday party at London’s Lanesborough Hotel that same year.
Lisa Marie also stayed at the duchess’s villa in Marbella to privately grieve the death of her ex-husband, Michael Jackson.

The duchess previously expressed her love for her friend after Lisa Marie’s son, Benjamin Keough, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the age of 27 in 2020.
Taking to Instagram to share her grief, she wrote: ‘You stayed with me in my darkest moment and I am here in yours…love you my sister Lisa Marie…wherever, whatever I am with you, in all steadfastness.’
Lisa Marie’s death comes just two days after she was pictured with her mother, Priscilla, at the Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hills Hilton where Austin Butler won a Best Actor award for his portrayal of her father in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis.
She can be seen drying her eyes as Austin thanked the pair for opening their ‘hearts’ and ‘memories’ and said ‘I love you forever’.

Sources yesterday told TMZ that she was found unresponsive in her bedroom by her housekeeper and that her ex-husband, Danny Keough, who she has been living with, performed CPR until paramedics arrived.
EMTs were able to resuscitate her and rush her to a local hospital, but she was pronounced dead a few hours later.
Lisa Marie’s death was confirmed by her mother, who announced in a statement: ‘It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.
‘She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss.

‘Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.’
Lisa Marie was married four times, firstly to guitarist Danny Keough who she met as a teenager at a drug rehabilitation centre and with whom she had two children – Benjamin and Riley.
She later eloped with Michael Jackson in 1994, with the marriage lasting a year and a half.
After being engaged to musician John Oszajca, the pair broke up and she married actor Nicholas Cage in August 2002 before filing for divorce three months later.
Her final husband was guitarist Michael Lockwood and the pair were married for 10 years from 2006, having two twin daughters.
After Lisa Marie’s death, her last husband’s lawyer Joe Yanny, released a statement saying: ‘Michael had been hoping for a speedy and complete recovery because her children needed her.
‘It is very sad it didn’t turn out that way. Michael’s world has been turned on its ear. He is with both of his daughters now.’
