A relationship expert has shared the subtle signs of infidelity, after cricketer Michael Clarke was sensationally accused of cheating on his current girlfriend Jade Yarbrough with his ex, the P.E Nation designer Pip Edwards, on Wednesday night.
A now-viral video, obtained by the Daily Telegraph, shows the ex-Australian cricket captain copping a barrage of expletive-filled abuse and insults from his girlfriend Jade Yarbrough.
Jade accused the cricket legend of cheating on her with Pip on December 17, and said that he messaged his ex asking her to come to India with him.
Louanne Ward, from Perth, said while people are often genuinely shocked and heartbroken to discover that their partner has been unfaithful, in many cases there are a number of key signs there all along that they simply failed to spot.

1. Changed or increased social media use
One of the main signs that someone you are dating might be cheating, Louanne said, is increased social media use and/or still communicating with an ex on Facebook or Instagram.
‘If there phone is going with them everywhere, even to the bathroom, then that’s not a good sign,’ Louanne (pictured) said
‘It might not seem like much, but catching your partner stalking an ex’s profile regularly or chatting to an ex is never a good sign for a relationship,’ Louanne told FEMAIL.
The same goes for increased or suspicious social media use, she said, as they might be trying to impress someone – and there’s no guarantee that’s you.
‘If there phone is going with them everywhere, even to the bathroom, then that’s not a good sign,’ she said.
2. Unexpected gifts or compliments
Louanne said the second sign of a cheater is someone who goes out of their way to heap unexpected gifts, praise or holidays on you.
‘I’d be suspicious if you start getting lots of gifts,’ she said.
‘Often, a gift is something that relieves their guilt of what they’ve done.’
The same can be said of compliments.
‘Usually, this attention or compliments is only in the home, not when you go out,’ she said.
‘That’s guilt again.’

3. Forgetting to mention what they’re doing
The third sign your partner might be cheating on you, Louanne said, is when they forget to mention what they’re doing and ‘who they’re doing it with’.
‘If they’re not giving you all of the details, then you should be suspicious something is happening,’ she said.
4. Increased or decreased sexual appetite
It’s a good idea to keep an eye on your partner’s sexual appetite if you think they might be cheating, according to Louanne.
Any significant change could be a sign.
‘They could be feeling extra horny because they’re getting more sex, or the opposite,’ she said.
5. Change of clothes and style
Watch out for a significant change of personal style, be that fashion, music or any personal tastes.
This is sometimes an indication someone else is having an influence.
If you repeatedly can’t reach your partner when you usually do, Louanne (pictured) said a warning bell should go off in your head
6. You’re not able to reach them and they give you pre-warning you won’t
If you repeatedly can’t reach your partner when you usually do, Louanne said a warning bell should go off in your head.
Ditto if they keep telling you that you won’t be able to reach them.
‘If they’re warning you they won’t be there and saying things like like “baby, I’m going to be in this long meeting and I won’t be able to answer my phone or you won’t be able to reach me”, then that’s strange,’ Louanne said.
If you’re suspicious, she recommends taking a look at their schedule and working out how it is different.
7. They avoid going to bed at the same time
‘If your partner doesn’t go to bed at the same time as you, you might not think much of it, but in fact it could be a sign that the intimacy is slipping away,’ Louanne said.
‘Sex is one thing that’s important for a relationship, but intimacy – like being in someone’s presence and kissing and hugging etc – is another thing entirely.’
8. They become angry, nervous and pick fights
Finally, if your partner starts ‘acting weird’ and becomes angry, nervous or picks fights, Louanne said it’s fair enough to wonder if they’re cheating.
‘They are trying to deflect their guilt back on to you,’ she said.
