Laura Byrne and her husband Matty ‘J’ Johnson have had a heated debate over a very common mistake a partner makes when they travel overseas solo.

Laura, 38, revealed on her Life Uncut series she received a frantic text message from Matty, 37, after she arrived in India for a work trip.

She explained he had locked his own keys in their car, meaning he was stuck without a vehicle while looking after their two kids solo for almost two weeks. 

‘He asked where my car keys were, I had my keys on me. He had misplaced his and I had travelled with mine, so there were no keys in the house,’ she said.

‘Matty said it makes no sense that I took my keys with me and asked what I was going to do with them in another country.’  

Laura asked her co-host Brittany Hockley, 36, who was in the right in the situation. 

Brittany sided with ‘Team Laura’ and said it was ‘irrelevant’ what she did with the keys as they were her property.

The clip was shared to Instagram and Matty was quick to weigh in his own thoughts in the comment section.

‘I mean surely you’d just leave the car keys behind when you’re going away!??’ he said.

‘Also worth flagging that the spare key is so rogue. We both know it disappears three weeks of each month,’ he added, which prompted Laura to admit it was an incredibly ‘divisive’ issue. 

The lovebirds met on the set of Channel Ten’s The Bachelor in 2017. 

Matty and Laura announced their engagement while on holiday in Fiji in 2018. 

The couple tied the knot on the South Coast in 2022.

They welcomed their first daughter, Marlie-Mae, in 2019, followed by Lola in February, 2021.
