Congressional lawmakers are ‘terrified’ after Donald Trump revealed details about how Iran has been plotting to kill him. The ex-president’s campaign said that the hostile nation has made ‘real and specific threats’ to assassinate Trump very recently. The shocking revelations come after Trump was given a classified briefing by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI). The 45th president later confirmed on social media that there are ‘big threats on my life by Iran.’

More concerning was another portion of his statement: 'Moves were already made by Iran that didn¿t work out, but they will try again.' And lawmakers, who are already scrambling from the two assassination attempts on Trump in Pennsylvania and Florida , are now demanding to know what the classified briefing contained and whether Iran was behind the previous attempts.

'I read it and I talk with him but I think people truly find that terrifying that a foreign government would actually develop a plan,' Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene , R-Ga., a close ally of the former president exclusively told DailyMail.com. 'I think that's extremely concerning. It definitely moves things to another level.' Greene also mentioned confusion surrounding the classified briefings, highlighting how it's unclear if Iran had any connection to the July 13 shooting in Butler, Pennsylvania, or the September 15 attempt in West Palm Beach, Florida.

'I don't know if it was the two attempted assassinations,' the Georgia Republican said. 'Maybe there were other things that we don't know about that were stopped.' 'And I'll speak on behalf [of] most people I know at home, they're not interested in war right now. Most people I know at home want to fix the problems in our country.' Then she gave a warning. 'We will not tolerate Iran threatening the life of former President Trump or anyone else.'

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (pictured), D-Fla., who sits on the House Task Force investigating the assassination attempts on Trump, told DailyMail.com the committee has requested that ODNI give them a briefing as well. 'I saw former President Trump's statement that he put on Twitter, and as a result of that statement, I believe the task force has asked for a classified briefing to receive the same information that former President Trump got.' 'We have not gotten that same briefing from ODNI,' Moskowitz confirmed.

Washington Democratic Rep. Rick Larsen told DailyMail.com: 'It's horrible that the Iranians would do this, if it could be true.' He said the country should 'be ready for the U.S. to ratchet up pressure' on Iran given their brazen threats. The Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Mike Turner, R-Ohio, told DailyMail.com he could not speak to the specifics of the briefing when pressed about it on Wednesday.

But on Thursday morning he came out with a strong statement seemingly pointed directly at U.S. and Iranian leadership. 'President Biden and Vice President Harris must make it clear to Iran that any attempt on President Trump¿s life would be an act of war,' Turner wrote on social media. The briefing and subsequent questions arising from it comes days after investigators found that Iranian 'malicious cyber actors' emailed associates of President Biden's campaign with information 'taken from stolen, non-public material from Trump's campaign' over the summer.

Multiple federal agencies discerned hackers from Iran had sent emails containing stolen material from Trump's campaign to people involved in Biden's then re-election campaign last week. Officials painted the breach as being part of a broader effort by Tehran to influence the upcoming election.

'We've emboldened a number of countries, Iran, China, Russia, to interfere with our elections,' Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif. (pictured), told DailyMail.com. 'This isn't the first or the second or the third [attempt].' He warned that the country has seen their meddling in U.S. elections work before, and going after candidates is just the newest implementation of their meddling in American affairs.
