Sir Alex Ferguson’s 1998-1999 immense Treble-winning side completed a feat that few would have thought possible in their capturing of the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup.
Although the Manchester City team of 2022-23 matched their achievement after a number of years of near-misses, many still see the retro Red Devils outfit as the pinnacle of English football.
But how would the serial winners fare in the contemporary Premier League landscape?
It’s All Kicking Off! co-host Chris Sutton has argued that David Beckham, Roy Keane and Co would be likely winners – even in the face of Guardiola’s long-term dominance.
But the Mail Sport podcast’s other voice Ian Ladyman was a little more cagey about the prospects of transplanting the Treble-winners to the modern era.

Sutton was particularly impassioned on the subject of the Man United side’s impressive quality and depth, including the talents of super-sub – and former United manager – Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The former Celtic star added that the outfit had been his ‘favourite’ team to watch.
