From Waltzing polar bears, to a hippopotamus that should have gone to Specsavers and a very alarmed squirrel – these are the world’s funniest animals captured in their natural habitat.
These are the final 41 finalist out of thousands of entries which have made the cut – and they are guaranteed to make you chuckle.
The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards were founded by Tanzania-based wildlife photographers Tom Sullam and Paul Joynson-Hicks.
The competition works alongside the Born Free Foundation to highlight a more serious matter – the importance of conserving our planet’s beautiful wildlife.

Sparring: A pair of deer square up to each other and fight in what looks like a boxing match

Let me take a selfie: A self-conscious blue shark smiles to the camera to strike the perfect pose in the deep blue sea
Kiss and tell: Two mudskippers – or amphibious fish – show their affection by appearing to have a smooch by the side of a river
Oops: A naughty sifaka lemur with its hand over its mouth as it sits on a tree in a forest
Waltzing: Two grizzly bear cubs appear to dance as they shimmy across the sand
You can’t see me: A bashful kingfisher hides its head in its wings as it rests on a tree branch
Take that: Two gibbons fight, as one jumps through the air to kick his opponent in the face in what appears to be a karate move
Squaring up: A sea lion is ganged-up on by a group of king penguins during a standoff by the sea
Burried his head: A grizzly bear does its best ostrich impression with its head stuck in the snow
It’s this way: A penguin points with its wings to a friend as they try to figure out the right way to the sea
Hide and seek: A female moose peers from behind a tree in a snowy forest
Goldie hooks: Three bear cubs climb a tree in what appears to be a race while their mother inspects the ground of the forest floor
Animal hybrid: A hyena appears to have wings as a bird stretches out behind it
Hold on: A very alarmed squirrel with its arms extended
Tired: An owl yawns while its friend looks on with steely-eyed determination
Peacocking: A rhino appears to have a peacock’s tail as it wonders towards a confused duck
Gurning: A cheeky moose makes an unusual face and gurns at the camera

Shut up: Two woodpeckers sit on a branch as one squawks in the other’s face
Boo: A startled-looking owl peeks up from the ground
Cooling off: An elephant has the time of its life by flicking sand on its back to cool down in the desert heat
Lazy: A polar bear lounges in the snow and rolls around on the ice, rubbing its head on the ground
Hiding: A rabbit holds its head in its pours in its natural habitat
